It's been a couple of weeks since we were last together. Something that has been on my mind to share with you guys is the importance of staying balanced. Being a wife and a mother of two, it's very easy to maintain a high level of stress and get lost in your responsibilities and forget to take care of yourself. But as they say how can you pour from an empty vessel? You can't.
So for me, I make sure that I eat healthy and exercise regularly. But the most important thing that I do to keep my focus is meditation. Whether it's in silence or with some nice, calm meditation music in the background, I need that time to just escape. I grew up in church so I do recognize the importance of prayer. However, with meditation, there is no conversations, no noise. You do allow the thoughts to come into your mind but you simply release them as they come. This is not the time to plan our day, start a grocery list and think of the 10 million things we have left to do that day. Focus on the empty space and just breathe. For me, I focus on my breathing and the feeling of the air going in and out of my lungs; that allows me to avoid thinking of what ever it is I have to do later. Even if it is just for 5-10 mins, taking time to just STOP and breathe does so much for your stress levels and your mental stability. I've heard so many people tell me, "I can't listen to that music, it makes me sleepy" Well music may not be your thing, just meditate in silence. Whatever you need to do to bring peace to yourself and bring yourself back to center. I have talked to several people who say they will stop in the middle of their work and just take a couple deep breaths and go back to what they were doing. Those few seconds make all the difference. I hope this helps someone! Thank you for taking the time to read this weeks blog!!
May Peace. Find You. Always! XOXO
